About Us

Smoky Mountain HOG Chapter #3002 is one chapter of Harley-Davidson’s Harley Owners Group worldwide riding club. We are based in Swannanoa, N.C., just east of Asheville, N.C. Our chapter is sponsored by Harley-Davison of Asheville. We are very fortunate to live in the mountains of western North Carolina, with some of the best roads to ride motorcycles in the country.

We are a group of people who share a passion for the Harley-Davidson brand and are made up of people from every walk of life. Among us are doctors, construction workers, nurses, engineers, project managers, firefighters, plumbers, administrative assistants and truck drivers. All of us are committed to having fun while making new friends while enjoying our bikes. We enjoy an outstanding relationship with our dealer/ sponsor and our annual calendar is busy with plenty of opportunities for good times and many opportunities to make new friends.

While our main focus is to ride, Smoky Mountain HOG has also supported several local charities over its history. We have been major supporters of the Smoky Mountain Toy Run for more than 30 years, an effort to ensure local underprivileged children have a bright Christmas. We also support several Veterans charities along with help for law enforcement support groups.

We strive to have safe, fun activities for our membership while promoting the Harley-Davidson brand and changing the perception of just what our piece of the motorcycle culture is.
